Great ideas emerge when we collaborate with experts of all kinds, and we solicit contributions from everyone. We choose collaboration over individualism, even if this makes some processes slower. We promote transparency by sharing our ideas widely, openly publishing and communicating our methods and techniques.

The data, research, and insights we generate include the perspectives of stakeholders with the goal of improving their lives. We don’t conflate the status quo with evidence. We strive to protect against cognitive biases by using data and evidence to inform everything from small day-to-day decisions to large-scale, strategic initiatives. Innovation requires skepticism of repeating the past without evidence of its success.
We Believe in Asking Questions to Get to Root Causes
We prioritize first principles thinking, which means we work to understand the fundamental principles underlying complex problems to design sustainable solutions. To get to first principles, we deliberate among all of the relevant stakeholders, both externally and internally. Asking questions is both expected and invited, and is necessary to ensure we are espousing our other guiding principles.
EA is solutions focused
We build research-based solutions with a human-centered approach to create meaningful data and analytics for educators. Current solutions include products like StartingBlocks, Stadium, Rally Analytics Platform, and Podium. Our product offerings will continue to evolve as we incorporate feedback from our partner organizations, educators, and administrators.
EA plays a unique role in public education - working closely with districts and state education agencies, policymakers, practitioners, and companies that are on the cutting edge of education technology.
