Since 2016, Education Analytics (EA) has partnered with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to provide student growth measures that support institutional accountability and school improvement across the state.

Each year, EA produces growth model results, develops documentation tailored for both practitioners and technical users, and designs models and analyses to address New York State’s unique educational needs. EA also supports NYSED in determining federal accountability ratings for the growth component of school accountability under the state’s approved Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan.

As part of this ongoing work, EA has presented to the Assessment Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), due to the critical role assessments play in the state’s growth model calculations. Additionally, EA collaborates with NYSED on two to three research studies annually, focused on testing model enhancements and delivering actionable data to state education leaders.
