Education Analytics (EA) has partnered with the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and the state’s school districts since 2018. Our initial work began by providing student growth measures based on statewide annual assessments—offering greater insight and accountability into school performance statewide.
SCDE then selected EA as its technical partner to support the implementation of Ed-Fi. Today, every district in South Carolina sends data from their student information system to a local Ed-Fi Operational Data Store (ODS), which is then published to a statewide ODS managed by SCDE. This Ed-Fi infrastructure enables near-real-time sharing of key data, including live student and staff rosters, attendance, behavior incidents, and more.
Student data flows from the infrastructure into both of EA's reporting platforms, Podium and Rally. In partnership with SCDE and the District Data Governance Group (DDGG), these platforms are supported via ongoing development of new dashboards and metrics for use by administrators and on-the-ground staff.
In partnership with the District Data Governance Group (DDGG), EA launched the first statewide implementation of Podium dashboards—customized for each district across South Carolina. This work includes the ongoing development of new dashboards and metrics for use by school and district leaders.
DDGG also plays a vital role in governing data access and transport between district- and state-level Ed-Fi systems. EA has worked closely with DDGG for several years to ensure the secure and responsible use of student data across all stakeholders.
